transcription of the arrangement on the Streams of Living Water

bass and walking bass, and includes a "gliss to nowhere" variation.
You gotta check this one out! Praise to the Lord (for lever harp) - $5
The familiar hymn tune, Lobe Den Herren, has been jazzed up as only
Frank Voltz can do it! The first verse is traditional with large, lush
rolled chords in 3/4 time, but then it gets interesting. The second
verse is tango / habanera style and exudes a Spanish flair in 4/4
time. The last verse is even more expressive than the previous verse.
It has a Latin Salsa feel. This jazzy arrangement has the jazz chords

This familiar hymn is one of Frank’s favorites. Instead of speeding it
up, he has slowed it down and turned it into a ballad – with lush jazz
chords (7ths, 9ths, 11ths, 13ths), slow glisses, and p.d.l.t. This is
a lovely arrangement that will linger in the congregation’s ears.
There are two lever changes that repeat three times – so although
there are six lever changes, it is the same lever engaged and
disengaged over and over, or the same pedal change over and over. This
is a new arrangement that Frank has not recorded… yet! Two Traditional Wedding Marches (for lever & pedal

An original composition in A minor with several glissandos and only
two pedal or lever changes. This composition has the musical quality

However, there are four measures of sixteenth notes that may be
challenging to an early beginner. Otherwise, this piece is not
difficult.
A Scott Joplin Montage (for 3-HARP
ENSEMBLE) - $12
Frank has taken two familiar Scott Joplin pieces and woven them into a
lively and exciting arrangement that is fun to play. The "Peacherine
Rag" and "Bethena" are two pieces that are heard often in movie scores
and are recognizably Scott Joplin but are not so "overdone" as "The
Entertainer" or "The Maple Leaf Rag." All parts are required, i.e., no
parts are optional. The melody bounced back and forth through all the
parts. All parts are the same level of difficulty. Lever and pedal
markings are clearly notated. Lever changes are easy with plenty of
time to engage the lever between notes. Page turns are easy. A
full-size Conductor's Score is included (also easy to read). This is a
great finale for student recitals. This is also a great teaching aid
for harp instructors. In April 2009, this piece was premiered by the
American Youth Harp Ensemble at their Gala Concert in Richmond, VA. To

Waltz of the Flowers (for 4-HARP
ENSEMBLE with optional SOLOIST'S CADENZA) - $15
Frank has taken the orchestral score of the Waltz of the Flowers from
"The Nutcracker" and arranged it for four lever or pedal harps. What
makes this arrangement truly unique is the optional fifth part
including the soloist's cadenza. The soloist's cadenza is an
adaptation of the original cadenza and has been edited to accommodate
the range of a 36-string lever harp. The original cadenza (not
included) extends beyond the lowest C of a 36-string lever harp and
can be used if the soloist is playing a pedal harp or a lever harp
with a range of A below the lowest C. The soloist cadenza provides an
opportunity to feature an advanced harpist within the ensemble
arrangement for beginner / intermediate level. A Conductor's Score is
included.
Winter Wind (for lever and pedal harp) - $5
Although the introduction might remind you of a familiar introduction
by Gabriel Faure, this piece has its own identity and quickly turns in
another direction. The right hand plays a triplet pattern that recurs
throughout the piece - like a constant blowing wind. The melody is
rhapsodic as in many of Frank's compositions, and the ending comes to
a haunting finish - inviting the listener to imagine how and when the
winter wind will end. Only two lever / pedal changes. |
