Theatre. During his tenure in Pittsburgh, he served as accompanist, stage manager, and Assistant Ballet Conductor for the Pittsburgh Symphony under the direction of Andre Previn. Frank moved to Washington D.C. in 1981 and has been a pianist at McLean Bible Church, a large evangelical church in McLean, VA since 1990. Frank’s piano concerts are classically inspired yet maintain a light, contemporary, popular style that appeals to all ages. As he creates a palette of music, the audience follows him into a spirit of praise and worship and continues to sense the presence of the Lord throughout the concert. Of course, Frank can incorporate other instruments into a concert – harp or organ. Occasionally, he will coordinate performing with another instrumentalist (perhaps the church’s organist) or a trumpeter or vocalist from the church and accompany them. Frank enjoys the experience of playing duets and looks forward to sharing his talents with other talented musicians. Frank is available to present various workshops that aid church pianists and organists in pursuing excellence in their music ministry. Frank’s Hymn Playing workshop helps the pianist spice up his hymn playing and helps to keep service playing exciting and unpredictable from week to week. Another workshop, Piano and Organ Duets, presents concepts and examples of how any two keyboardists can improvise a piano and organ duet for a prelude or offertory. The workshop concludes with a demonstration of all the principles taught and relies on “audience participation” to create an extemporaneous improvisational duet. This workshop is lots of fun and very inspiring. Attendees are amazed that they can create a beautiful duet with minimal preparation just by following basic musical techniques.
