Winter Wind

Although the introduction might remind you of a familiar introduction by Gabriel Faure, this piece has its own identity and quickly turns in another direction. The right hand plays a triplet pattern that recurs throughout the piece - like a constant blowing wind. The melody is rhapsodic as in many of Frank's compositions, and the ending comes to a haunting finish - inviting the listener to imagine how and when the winter wind will end. Only two lever or two pedal changes.
